Radical Revolution of Values

"I am convinced that if we are to get on to the right side of the world revolution, we as a nation must undergo a radical revolution of values," prophetically declared Rev. Martin Luther King in NYC's Riverside Church exactly one year before his assassination. "When machines and computers, profit motives and property rights are considered more important than people, the giant triplets of racism, extreme materialism and militarism are incapable of being conquered." That much-needed radical revolution of values has been in a very long gestation period, but some of it began to emerge dramatically with the historic presidential campaign of Bernie Sanders in 2016. This year, that birthing process continues with Our Revolution and the thousands of progressive candidates, like Rev. Lange, running for elected office from the local to the national levels. As the prophet Isaiah said about another troubled land and time, "the people walking in darkness have seen a great light."  May that be the case in Ohio's 6th Congressional District as well this year. May the salt of earth and the light of the world residing in every community find the courage of their convictions to drive out the money-changers, false prophets, and puppets of the parasitic 1% from the halls of Congress and usher in a new Great Awakening in our troubled land and district.
